The freshest Japanese cuisine I’ve had in 10 countries over the last 6 months. Scored a table by the sushi bar to watch the masters and their precise, blurry hands. Range is very creative, staff cordial and food immaculate. Lovely owner who clearly cares about locals and new visitors (like me) even though they were super busy at dinner time. Shall return before venturing on!
I like the food, and I live a few minutes away. I'm a local business owner, and I know how important it is to treat you local base nicely. I just tried to make a reservation and spoke with Michael, the owner. I can't believe how poorly he treated me on the phone. I guess business is so good, he doesn't need my money. It's just too bad, I always recommend Bizen because the food is good. Now there are several other amazing options, I guess I'll just send visitors elsewhere. Too bad the owner doesn't care about being a little bit kind. Maybe he should consider hiring someone who can be nice to potential customers?
The lunch was perfect. I had the bulldozer. In the future I will order it as the Afghanistan. The owner Michael told me how to place the order in the future. He's a sharp man who knows his trade. Please try this place. My wife and I have been going for many years.
I have a hearing impairment. So, on Saturday night, my girlfriend Ann reserved a private room here, and told me to prepare myself for some pretty special sushi. When we arrived, there was a mix-up. Our party was not marked for that private room. We let the maitre d know. Well, a moment later, the owner/chef Michael Marcus appeared, took all in hand, got us in to our private room, and proceeded to wait on our table himself. This included pointing us in the right direction for amazing choices from Ramen to Rolls. Needless to say, all was delicious. But want to give a big time shout out to the Fifty Shades of Cray. No words, just please try!
Wow. I rarely leave reviews, but when I do, I always like to check out what others thought. The consensus seems to be...that the wait staff needs a bit of improvement. They seemed OK to me, but think I get it. HOWEVER, I have to say that I have visited sushi places all over the world, and whomever thought up the exquisite selections here is a CREATIVE MASTERMIND. And my choices did not disappoint. My recommendation, don't worry about the wait staff, just eat the food. It is world class.
